Chateau Haut Pougnan is in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers in the Bordeaux wine-producing region, near Creon, the vineyards of Chateau Haut-Pougnan spread on the slopes of the right bank of the Garonne, superb clay-limestone soil and gravel. The eastern and southern slopes are home to the red vineyards, with the western slopes being the domain of white wines. The calcareous clay soils result in very fine wines with subtle bouquet.

The 2020 Cuvée Prestige red is a classic Bordeaux mix of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Located between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers its limestone and gravel soils lend itself to the Merlot grape providing a rich fruity taste. Well balanced tannins with some vanillary notes after a year in oak barrels.It is a multi award winning wine, with the 2020 vintage producing an authentic and unpretentious taste of an old fashioned Bordeaux family wine. Simply delicious.

The 2022 Entre-Deux-Mers white is delicate and light white predominately made up of Sauvignon Blanc (70%). It has a well balanced acidity with a floral nose and is neither too dry or too fruity. It is also 25% Semillion and 5% Muscadelle. In our view it is an excellent spring / summer wine and this 2022 vintage is of exceptional quality.
