April's Wine of the Month is one our favourite's; the majestic Magneric from Domaine Sainte Croix.

We have been working alongside Jon and Liz Bowen for some time and we cannot get enough of their terroir driven wines. Jon originally nurtured his viticulture skills at Plumpton College (East Sussex) but now tends his parcels of vines amongst the white rocks of the High Corbieres in Southern France.

Magneric tastes of deep red and black fruits including blackberries, wild raspberries and figs. It is a natural wine with dense but ripe tannins. The mixture of 60% Grenache and 40% Carignan adds spice and acidity to the full bodied taste.16 months in French oak barrels provides additional complexity and helps give this wine aging potential. It is particularly good with a spicy lamb tagine.
