Domaine du Meteore, Perseides 2020

Perseides (rouge) 2016 from Domaine du Meteore, in the Faugeres Appellation, is a delicious organic wine with a blend of syrah, grenache and mourvedre. The wine combines mineral notes, cocoa beans, Sichuan pepper and a hint of menthol. Rich with a freshness to the finish, this is a perfect illustration of schist terroir.After de-stemming, the grapes are soaked for a full six weeks to bring out the wine’s garnet hues. Following fermentation, it’s matured for fourteen months in fine Burgundy oak, then for a further fourteen in stainless steel.
